Research Focus

My research focuses on the child, family and environmental factors that influence activity limitations and participation restrictions in children and youth with developmental disabilities. Primary populations of interest include children born at high risk for disability (preterm survivors, congenital heart defects) and children with cerebral palsy. Recently, I have been examining knowledge translation and exchange strategies that promote best practices with respect to early identification of disability and the uptake of effective rehabilitation interventions. I also currently lead CHILD-BRIGHT, a pan-Canadian patient-oriented research network (SPOR) focused on children with brain-based disabilities.
